Checking In: Berjaya Resort, Langkawi Review

Is there anything better than lounging poolside on a lush tropical island, cocktail in hand while the stresses of daily life slowly melt away? Absolutely not! Especially when your lounging is topped with free entertainment. And by free entertainment I mean a stealthy monkey sneaking in and stealing fruit for your cocktails from the coconut stand when the staff aren’t looking. A perfectly executed crime.

If you’re lucky enough to be on the hunt for your next island vaccay, complete with glorious sunsets, island archipelagos and all the fresh coconuts you could possibly want, I can highly recommend Berjaya Resort on the beautiful island of Langkawi, Malaysia.

Berjaya Resort, Langkawi

The resort it situated out of the main part of town amidst lush tropical rain forest, yet just steps away from the azure waters of the private Pantai Kok beach. It’s far enough away that you have peace and quiet so you are in 100% relax mode as soon as you arrive, but close enough that everything is a short Uber ride away. All accommodation is either situation in the rain forest or over the water. Shuttle bus services run on demand around the resort. There is a beautiful beach area. A number of Bars and restaurants. Huge Pool, spa and plenty of activities to keep you busy if you don’t want to venture too far.

The Rooms

Our place was a brilliant chalet built up among the trees. The Chalet was equipped with all the necessities, a rain shower and a balcony where monkeys convened for their morning brief each day.

The Dining and Drinking

There are no shortage of delicious options at Berjaya. Breakfast is a buffet every day at Dayang Cafe. I’m not usually a fan of buffets, but when there are several different types of curry and fresh roti every morning I’m not complaining. #curryaddict. I tried the Beach Brassiere which had delicious Indian food a couple of times as well as the exquisite Pahn-Thai Restaurant. How’s that for a location!

There are no shortage of cheap, delicious cocktails consumed across the lobby bar, swim-up pool bar and beach bar too! Many mojito of all sorts of varieties!

The Spa

Without a doubt this was me highlight of our stay at Berjaya. The Taaras Spa is set in a quiet corner of the resort, deep in the jungle. It’s not just a massage but a whole experience. We were greeted by staff with cold drinks and a menu for healthy snacks and meals. We were taken on a guided tour of the facility before we changed into our bikini’s and spent some time relaxing in the private pool before being guided to our rooms for our treatment. The staff were incredible and our massages were heavenly. After we spent some time in the relaxation rooms, steam room and sauna to complete the experience with a glass of ginger tea.

Over all, I couldn’t of asked for a better stay at Berjaya. The staff are incredibly helpful. They go out their way to make sure you have a great time. They even put up with me after I locked myself out my chalet a number of times. I highly recommend Berjaya Resort, Langkawi to anyone who is looking for a no stress stay on the beautiful island.

This post is not sponsored in anyway. We paid full price for our stay and would do so again!

Ohh, and just in case you didn’t believe me.. Here is the criminal. Caught red handed.
